IRINA SHAYK STARS IN GIVENCHY'S SPRING / SUMMER 2017 CAMPAIGN
Irina Shayk is the star of the new Givenchy Spring / Summer 2017 campaign.
Shot by legendary duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot and styled by Carine Roitfeld, the Russian beauty appears with new faces Vittoria Ceretti and Faretta Radick. Regulars Mariacarla Boscono and Lea T. and male model Victor Perr also make appearances.
In one image Shayk looks directly into the camera wearing a black top with a wide v-neck, her brunette hair open, with minimal make-up. In another picture, she sports a black trouser suit and an XXL chain statement necklace with a gold pendant.
The campaign images juxtaposes studio portraits with desert landscapes shot on location in Southern California. Under the motto 'Love and Serenity', together the models present the new designs by Riccardo Tisci while conveying the principle of duality at the heart of Givenchy's DNA.
Tisci who took inspiration from nature and crystals for the latest collection spoke to WWD about it saying 'I want to make clear that we are welcoming different kinds of women, different kinds of men in our world. We can dress a woman that's more mature, more classic and a woman who is more street, more daring, stronger and more sensual - girls that like to play with fashion.'
In addition to the campaign images the French fashion house also unveiled a new short film which tells the story of 'a young Parisian girl who comes out of a club after a rave party and gets lost on a trip on Mars'.
